'97 Key
Believe it or not after 12 years Im due for a new key. Stupid as it may seem but... how do I go about getting one? Something with vat and code.. what?

Couple options:
-Take old key to dealer, may be $35 or more
-Measure resistor pellet, buy key blank online, take to any key cutter
-Take VIN and proof of ownership to dealer, they can cut key (may be only choice if your resistor is bad)
-Call locksmith, ask if they can make a Pass Key for Chevy
There are 15 resistance value's.

I just went to a locksmith type store with my key and they had a blank with the correct VAT code on hand.

I just called a local locksmith and he said that he could match the key ... hmmm will try later today. Thanks all!!!
