So I'm going to buy a new battery tonight after work, what Battery should I go with? I know people seem to favor Red Tops, please let me know what you go with and if there is any special place in town where it costs less. Looked like a Red Top Optima was 189.99 at O'reilly's.
The car does sit during the week depending on weather, etc...
A word of advice...don't fall into the red top/yellow top Optima battery argument. Go to Costco and buy their Kirkland battery for your Vette. It costs less than half the price of an Optima, has more cranking capacity and more amps than the standard battery for a C5 Corvette. Plus it has a 3 year no questions asked replacement and an 84 month pro rated replacement warranty. I put one in my car last year and am satisfied!
Save yourself some money for mods!
I would stay with ACDelco Professional grade battery with 50 month free replacement warranty. Optimas don't last any longer than traditional batteries.

I've had two Red Tops and have been pleased. Lots of good choices out there - just remember that there is a computer right under the battery tray so you want one that is not prone to leaking.
Battery advice....I applied for a job at a battery warehouse place. I was very shocked to see the batteries come in the door with no stickers (all of them had black cases) and they put the stickers (brand name) on them and ship them out. So I learned that day that ALL of those are the same (allthough different cca) batteries. If you want to pay more for the same one...your choice.
Exide Orbital. The newer Optima's have been rather hit and miss for the last couple of years. I wouldn't touch one, but that doesn't mean they haven't worked great for some folks.
Another vote for Costco. Forget fancy expensive batteries. They don't have any better record than the cheapest fitting battery from Walmart.
My last Walmart battery is now three years old and cost about $70.
If you do a search on google or other wise you'll see Consumer Reports, post and they recommend the extended life battery (Can't remember right now) from Walmart. Said it was better than most every other long life battery on the market and it was closest to the lowest priced batteries ! Obviovsly spending as much money as you can doesn't mean your gonna get the best bang for you bucks !
