Driving up to an intersection Friday night and see cop lights as I approach. Pulling to a stop at the red light I look at the street that comes into 3rd St that I am on. A 90's Cavalier is off the ground completely due to a red C5 that is underneath it. The rear wheels of the Cavalier are on top of the roof of the C5, the front wheels on the nose of the C5. My assumption is that either the two were hurrying to the light when the Cavalier braked and the C5 didn't or the C5 came up on the Cavalier at high speed without stopping. Only one driver was standing talking ot the officer on scene so I figure one driver or the other was injured or taken away arrested. I called my wife right as I drove away from the intersection and told her to drive up and get a pic but when she got there a flatbed was driving away with the Cavalier on it. Would have made a great picture, surprised the hell out of me. This was at the intersection of 3rd St and High St for any of the few C5 owners here in Bloomington that might read this.
Maybe the Vette driver was on his cell phone and was distracted
No I don't make a habit of being on the phone while driving but I was in my 96 Camry and it took seconds to tell her where to go.
I am kicking myself for not having a camera in the car and the fact I haven't bothered to upgrade to a phone with a camera.
Is this a result of pricing coming down on C5's and allowing access to a certain part of the public that should not have access to this type of BHP?
Probably a factor to at least some extent!!My guess would be the Cavalier stopping and the vet not. A firm stop, shifting the weight would hike the rear a bit,, helping the vet nose to go right under!!Alcohol and or cell phone quite likely involved as well!!
