ok, i have a stock 99 a4 vette. i want to work on the suspension first since i have 90k miles. i want to get brand new c6 z06 shocks and possibly c6 z51 swaybars later down the road, but i came across a deal on here for 04 zo6 shocks, springs, and swaybars with 50k miles for $360. i think its too good of a deal to pass up. which direction do you think i should go. i also plan on lowering it on stock bolts as soon as i get home from overseas. thanks, Dan.
I purchased C6 ZO6 shocks (5K) for a little over 100 on ebay and C5 Z51 swaybars for 50, not sure how much the springs are but you may want to look around. I havn't installed them yet so I can't comment on the handling

Lets start with what your plans with the car are. Autocross, track, street spirited driving? I think C6 Z06 shocks are a little over kill. Why brand new? You can find great deals all the time of used suspension stuff. Is money a factor? LG just put out a great package deal of coil overs and sway bars. If money is a factor I would look into used C5 Z06 stuff, or pick up C6 Z51 stuff here and there. You can get front and rear sways from a C6 Z51 for about 100 a piece brand new!
Figure out what your plans are with the car and build off of that
I have upgraded to c6 z51 bars-got them used. When my shocks go, I will get new c6 z06 shocks. they seem to be a very popular mod with the c5 crowd and I have yet to hear anything bad about the upgrade.
personally, I do not see the advantage of adding 50k mile shocks. to me they have too many miles but it is your cash.
there is a chart of sway bar sizes which may help your decision-you will have to search for it.
the deal you are looking at is pretty good but for a few hundred more, you could do the c6 gear (minus the springs) and have a lot more life in your parts and better parts imho.
either way, good luck and let us know what you decide
first things first, i plan on keeping this car on the street and take it down the 1/4 mile every once and a while. i like to do some corner carving. i was kind of thinking 50k miles was a bit much, so im glad yall brought that up. i think i might just get some c6 z06 shocks and some c6 z51 bars, and they dont have to be new. thanks for the input folks.
I have a 99, and replace my F45 shocks and tired leaf springs with Pfadt Adjestable Coilovers. I also swapped my stock sway bars for the Pfadt Street sway bars. My car handles awesome now.
Coil overs help keep suspension movement at one wheel. You can also adjust ride height and balance the car equally at all 4 corners. Some ppl argue the coil springs are more responsive than the mono leaf.
I would not buy shocks with 50k on them to start with, and it this is mostly a street Vette with little spirited driving, the C6Z shocks will be fine with C6 Z51 bars. On our C6 I have C6 Z51 bars and Koni FSD shocks and like the setup for a daily driven non track car, my C5 is setup a little different, but this Vette sees different driving
ok folks, i just bought c6 z06 shocks and c6 z51 bars w/ metal endlinks from gene culley yesterday. i cant wait to put them on when i get home. thanks for yalls help, Dan.

Congrats those parts are a perfect setup for a street Vette

i plan on doing the sway bars myself, but i will probably take it to a shop for the shocks. or hell, i'll be tight on time when i get home so i might have em do it all. either way i will let u know. but i dont get home for another couple weeks...im working in africa
