hey guys, i put some more freon in my car because my ac wasn't getting cold at all, as i was re charging it is seemed to work fine, got cold, and stayed like that for about 2 days, after that it went back to blowing hot, i don't have a high side cap on it and i can see that it is leaking slightly out if where im supposed to have a cap at, is this the problem? will a cap solve it?
The cap is not designed to seal leaks, you will need to remove and replace the R-134 Service Port Valve Core to properly fix it. Means you will have to Evacuate and Recharge the system.

okay thanks. i will try that, but would it be capable to completely leak out after 2 days of use after i just charged it?
If you don't have access to a vacuum pump, don't pull the schraeder out of the charging port.
This will introduce air into the system, and you'll need to pull it into a vacuum before you can charge it,hence the pump requirement.
Tighten the existing core as advised above, and if that doesn't stop the leak, get a metal cap("o" ring style) and stop the leak with that till you can take it in and get it done right.
Or leave it that way-if you stop the leak,it'll work fine for years,as long as the "o" ring holds...
1) you can try to tighten it with a schrader tool just don't strip the housing 2) you can try the metal cap with the gasket inside then bubble it for leaks with the ac running to develop high side pressure. 3) evacuate system replace schrader valve, pull high vac and see if it holds--- yes recharge------------NO you got another leak somewhere good luck tony
