I'm the original owner of my 04. It's got 31k miles on it and today I got my second flat tire. Saw the warning on the DIC and went back home to change cars. Tires are not worn to the wear indicators yet, but I've had a flat in each rear tire. Anybody else have a similar experience?

On my '99 I had one flat tire with the runflats. On my '00, I had two tires punctured. In each case, had the tires plugged and patched and drove on them for many more miles with no problems.
Where do you go to get run flats fixed? The other day my tire went flat and every tire place I went to said runflats cant be repaired.
I got lucky because it was just my preassure sensor that got loose and i just tightened it and my my tires fine. But yeah every tire place I went to said run flats cant be repaired

I've had 2 fixed at Discount tires in Poway - FREE!!! They can be fixed. They were dismounted, plugged and patched on the inside, remounted and balanced. I will go to them to replace my tires soon. Staying with run flats though since both flats happened out in the boonies.
Thanks bud, you being in SAn Diego as well I even have specific place to drive to if it happens. Sweet deal

I'm actually wondering if runflats get punctured more easily than a regular tire. Who gets two flats in 31,000 miles?
Same thing happened to me. Two in the rear, one on each side. First one was with Goodyears, the second with Michelins. I do not remember the last time I had a flat tire on any other car I've had. Very strange. Perhaps the runflat tread is kept flatter on the road, due to the stiffer sidewalls, thereby not allowing tire squirm to shed things it comes in contact with.

I have had 8 flats in 42,000 miles involving 3 sets of RFs. Just found out last week that Michelin ZPs can only be repaired once (if in tread) - two punctures = new tire. So thi

No difference at all in the resistance to puncture in the tread. Just the same as any other tire. No better, no worse. Just some bad luck that you have had. I had two flats in two weeks, one on the vette and one on my wifes car. A neighbor was having home remodeling work done.
I have never heard, and I can't imagine RF's being more susceptible to flats than non-RF's.
I would think just the bigger footprint of the tires has more to do with it.
New tires for me next year. Decisions, decisions.

I see you're in Cali but here in Jersey there is a chain of repair/tire shops called STS. They remove the tire from the rim and patch it. My first repair has held up fine.
I was convinced to go with non-runflats when I replace the tires, but now I'm not so sure. Like somebody said, decisions, decisions.

New home construction is a "killer" also. Dropped nails are easy flats.
