Default Bought a new jack!

After having a low profile Craftsman jack for a while (never buy one of these) and never being satisfied with the pile of crap, it finally broke and apparently they do not warranty the jacks as they do other products.

So after looking around for a while, I finally pulled the trigger on this jack from Harbor Freight. It's not as "lightweight" as they claim but after a brief look over it is made very strong and has a large 'lifting point' as well as double pumps to lift the car. It jacks up the car high, and fast! I use hockey pucks to get on the front jack points and this jack is perfect for that because the hockey pucks fit on there just fine!

Anyway, very happy with my purchse.. If you'd like to read more, here's a link to the jack on the HF website and also some pictures of it that I took when I first assembled it in my basement.

LINK:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=92782

PICS:
Great because you don't have to bend over (for us guys with bad backs) while you jack your car up.

Just to show how low it is to the ground...

Basic over view of the business part on the jack.

Just wanted to share this with you guys if you happen to be in the market for a good jack. That's all

I have the craftsman low profile jack and mine broke as well. After Sears told me they dont warranty them, I fixed it with a new weld. The jack works well and I will keep it until I cant fix it anymore. The jack you have does look nice though!

My craftsman welder broke too

I didn't even have the urge to fix that POS jack.. It leaked, it would take an act of congress to get it to depress.. etc etc..

News to me that Sears won't warranty them. That will figure in to my future purchases.

Bought one about that size and one a little smaller about 8 years ago from them,,and they are holding up fine!! Everything from my vets to an F-150 Super Crew. Good price and so far good service!! Yours does appear to have a little lower profile than mine,,looks good!! The biggest difference is the older ones have one big roller between the front frame rails. I'm sure you made a good purchase!!

I too bought the low profile aluminum jack from Sears a few years ago. It looks so nice to be a worthless piece of nothing!!! Mine started leaking after about two-three years. I will never ever buy another expensive jack from Sears or anyplace eles. I recently picked up a 3 ton heavy as anything jack from H/Freight ror $69.00 and came w/ a two year waranty.

Too funny...

I to am picking up the smaller version at harbor freight that we used at the track. Just went on sale for $79.99 - picking it up after work tomorrow when they get more in stock.

<-- Another owner of a craftsman "professional series" low profile jack that crapped out after 2 easy years of use. $170 down the drain.

That's a killer price! Now you can bring yours to the track (since it's smaller and more portable) and I can just borrow it at my liege! LOL

Also, you should have that CD tomorrow in your mailbox... enjoy the nude pix of me posing on my car that I included at absolutely no cost to you

Good looking jack. My Craftsman aluminum jack still works, but not like it did when I bought it. Will have to look at this one.

That jack looks good. My sears jack failed after 3 years - it wouldn't hold pressure. I've been using a Sam's goodwrench jack for the past two years, but it is a lot heavier and not as low profile. I'll have to look at HF's version!

Note: "My Sears jack failed after 3 years - it wouldn't hold pressure." After typing that I realized that my need to swap out the stock muffler for a Ti system exceeded my need for safety since I crawled under the car using Mojo1's craftsman jack! It was a great upgrade though!

Sounds good, may just find your pretty Iforged missing when you go for snack then.

So that's why it took you so long to send the cd...must have missed those pics...but i did get a omgwtfbbq titled video. Probably don't want to open that one huh? lol....vids look great...wish i could go back in time and correct that 3-4 shift. I had a hell of a launch that run.

I also picked up the jack today. So i go to pick it up and i asked about the extended warrantee plan. $19.99 and i can bring it back for any reason to exchange and i get the newest most upgraded jack available at that time. No questions asked return and receive a new one. After 2 years i can simply renew the warantee. So basically i will have a new/working jack at my cost of $20 every 2 years. No problem there. Even better was she said if i take advantage of that offer today i will get 20% off the price. So it turned out to be $83 out the door and i have a 2 year warantee. Pretty cool huh? This jack rocks.. had to test it out. Pumps up fast and easy and looks very stable for it's size. I'm a happy camper.

Great! I just bought a Sears low profile last weekend 'cuz it was the only one I could find on short notice that had a 3.5" clearance. On sale for $49.99. I guess I've got a couple of years in which to find a good one...
