Looking into a clutch that will hold 800 RWHP and 900 RWTQ. It is a N20 car and street/strip car, but need something that can take a beating. Looking at RPS Twin Carbon or Textrailia Exo. How is the pedal feel on these clutches? What other clutches do you all have in mind? Thanks for any help.
Im running a Monster STG3 good for 700/700 they have higher stages good to 1000hp. At a great price also!! Great clutch IMO for my FI application good pedal feel very slight chatter and if you get the .5 stg i.e stg 3.5 its suppose to do away with the chatter... good luck on your search!
Running an ACT street twin disk, supposed to be good for over 700 and its the street clutch. Put one in my buddies Cobra and it makes 600RWHP, holds just fine. Has stock pedal feel.
I have the Monster Level 3 also. If I had to do it all over again, I would make a different choice. I guess the question is weather or not the car will be used on the street as well as the drag strip.
If you use the car on the street for regular driving, the clutch disc builds up a glaze on the flywheel. The result is a sound during clutch engagement that is really loud and embarrassing. It does no harm, but it gets to being a pain in the azz having to deal with.
On the other hand, I suppose if its a drag duty situation, there may not be a problem...dont know, I was told the clutch would be excellent for the street also....
I would suggest either the RPS Twin Carbon or the Spec Twin disk. I personally have the Spec and the pedal feel is very light just like stock and it seems to be holding my power (909rwhp/812rwtq) easily!
I did not upgrade my slave or add an adjustable bleeder...installed the clutch according to Spec with the provided shim. There was some chatter initially, but after going to the dragstrip its gone now!
BTW, you might want to ask this question in the FI section as that's where the guys with the big power hang out.
i'm using a spec twin disk on my 700+RWHP car. From what I hear, it will hold much more than what I bring to the table. Give ECS a call and speak to Chris or Doug. They'll help you out

I get that sound too on my Monster stage 3 clutch. 900 miles. It doesn't shake anymore, but it makes this whirring metallic sound during engagement if I try to baby it pulling out in 1st.
Call McLeod and talk to one of their tech guys about what you're looking for. They will design and build a clutch specific to your setup & goals. It will be the last clutch you ever have to by.
I have the Exo-skel in mine. It has a firm pedal but nothing unreasonable. It makes some noise when depressed at idle, release the pedal and it goes away. It engages very smooth with no chatter. I'm at 600 rwhp so I can't comment on how it will handle 800 yet. I just ordered my direct port this weekend!
IMO, look for and ask the fastest 6 speed cars what they are using.
I have had an RPS, Exoskel and now the McLeod RXT. Easy decision if you ask me. I do, however agree that you should get the Tick adjustable master. It pushes a lot more volume than the stocker.
LISTEN TO DAVE...that RXT Mcleod twin is badass and sure took a beating with superb driveability...he took his out for a precautionary rebuild before a big track rental and both he and Mcleod said it looked perfect as if just broken in....the new RPS twins seem nice but are a **** load of money
