I posted this in Tech so I decided to post here also since this forum see's alot of traffic....
We live in a very small town and there isn't to many Vette's around so somehow my name and number was givin to this person having battery problems on a (maybe) 2001 model coupe..
Anyway is there any possiblility that any 2001 Coupes came with no keyholes in the doors ?? To make a long story short this lady calls me this morning to ask how to get the door open on their 2001 coupe because the battery had died..Her husband is a tree cutter and is out in the woods this morning so she really isn't sure what year it could be after I ask her a few questions about the car..Such as is the headlights fixed or do they pop open etc,etc...
I'm pretty sure its a 2005 or newer model because they had no keyholes in the doors and the key fob has a access key to open the trunk to get in the car just incase something like a dead battery would happen...Anyway he is suppose to call me once he gets home and I told her I would have some kind of answer for her..
If its a 2001 then it should have a keyhole on the door, they make a plug that is the same color as the car that you can put in it to kinda hide it. If its a 2005 or newer then I am not really sure, haven't really looked at those.

Russell I do appreciate it and will pass the info on to them...
Sorry should have specified, it has one on the drivers side and not the passenger side. Went out and looked at my 01,wasn't sure if it was on both sides or not but found it only on the driver door.
For a 2004-2001 C5 the passenger door will not have a keyhole but the driver's door will. In earlier C5's, both doors will have a keyhole. In either case, there maybe a keyhole cover over the keyhole (as mentioned above) that is body colored. If there is, pop it out with a small screwdriver and:
If it's a 2005 or later C6, the emergency acccess keyhole is in the rear license plate frame area that the key can be inserted into to pop the rear hatch.

If it's a C-6 I think you open the hatch and on the left side is a cable that you pull to open the door. Also if it's a C-6 post in the c-6 section. Make sure she isn't on a phone while trying to unlock a c-6 the phone signal interferes with the fob signal. Bill

You are correct, The C6 has a key for the rear hatch and there is a release there. Or you can climb in and open the door.

Should be a keyhole in the driver's door but not one in the passenger side. If there is no keyhole in the driver's side, check to see if perhaps the owner put one of the aftermarket plugs in there - they just popped in and covered up the keyhole.
Hope it's not a Vert as they don't have a key hole for the trunk and if the battery is dead the remote isn't going to open that either......
Looks like the hatch/trunk key lock is mounted horizontally above the license plate recess. It would not be obvious at a glance.
From the 05 owner's manual:
Page 2-12
From outside the vehicle, use the door release tab
located on the carpet inside the trunk on the driver’s side
of the vehicle. Pull the tab to unlock and unlatch the
driver’s door. See Hatch/Trunk on page 2-14 for
information on opening the trunk during a loss of power.
2-15 (cont'd from 2-14)
If your vehicle has lost battery power, open the
hatch/trunk using the vehicle key. The key lock cylinder
is located on the rear of the hatch/trunk lid above the
license plate. Turn the vehicle key clockwise in the lock.
If your vehicle has a convertible top and has lost
battery power, you can also use the emergency trunk
release handle to open the trunk. See “Emergency
Trunk Release Handle” following.
