If i new how to download the run i would . Go to streetfire and do a search, put in " Zeek" than go over to the one that says 3.4 whipple also say Blown 01 Z06. And watch what happens to the EVO.
This pretty much comes down his definition of "stock"
A "stock" Evo, with an exhaust cutout, clutch, reflash, and stock turbo will break into the 11s. Don't get cocky, An untrained eye can get raped by a "stock" Evo, especially on the street, food for thought.
Walk it off of the line, and out HP him. Should not be close. I am calling 12.7 to 13.6 for the Evo.
Have him put some money up, even if it is $20. Bragging rights are not that cool unless there is money involved
Fej
I spoke to him earlier today and took your advice. Said I would bet him 500.00!! He said he didn't have the cash now!! I will pound him all winter and go after him in the spring..

make it friendly, when you start betting that type of money, you better know exactly what car/driver you are racing, even if he says he doesn't have the money. He might be using that 500 for a nice 125 shot on his car right now.
I would definitely be careful. He's either just another testosterone filled kid who thinks EVO's are Gods gift to earth or the kid has something up his sleeve. Its clear as day that a STOCK EVO vs a stock z06 does not stand a chance unless the z06 just blows the tires off at the launch. Even then if the race is long enough the z06 will prevail.
Like others have said you better be damn sure that the thing is stock. This guy might be blowing smoke at you. Just don't get over confident because he will be the one laughing when he walks away with your money and pride.
One last word of advise, if this guy is running his mouth to you he must be running it to others. See if you find out some info on this guy. The best thing to do, is do your research on someone. See if this guy is legit or just another pimple faced punk talking smack.
First time I raced my completely stock 01 z06, my friend in his evo x raced his as well. He has a few mods, but hasn't had his ecu reflashed yet. Moral of the story, I ran a 13.0 @ 111, and he ran a 13.6 @ 101. I put on a pair of drag radials a few months later and ran a 12.4 @ 113. But like someone said earlier, there are PLENTY of evo's out there that would smoke 95% of the corvettes on this board, they're just not stock. Another friend had an evo 8 that ran consistent 11.5's, and looking at the car, you wouldn't know he had anything done to it.
Lots of misinformation in this thread. Evos are NOT easy to drive. I had a lightly modded Evo 8 and it was difficult but was still a high 11 / low 12 car. If his car is truly stock, you'll smoke him bad though.
So a mid to upper 13 second car will beat the Z06? Not unless he is a better driver than you I'm afraid. Put a tire on the car and watch what happens to his AWD advantage My Z only has headers, exhaust, 160 stat, tune and a VR and heavy aftermarket chrome wheels and I run consistant 12.1 launching off idle. Stock to stock you are still on average a full second faster.
What tires do use to launch with out bog at idle? DRs or ET streets w/o burnout? Just curious.
