Angle angle angle Some times you just have to suck it up and hope it's just the black plastic

...and when I say "scrape" I mean the center section of the car contacting the ground/speed bump...not the front air dam. Believe me, it is not a pleasant noise to hear.

I just try the best angle I can and hope to scrape as little as possible. I cant imagine it being lowered and scraping even more.

Drive the car cautiously before lowering and continue driving cautiously afterwards. Simple.

Anyone who lowers one of these already-too-low cars is a moron.

No speed bumps or potholes on the track! It is a silly idea for the street unless you "bag" it.

Lowering a car isn't a all or nothing ordeal mine is lowered and I can drive fine on any street and go up most driveways. Just because it doesn't follow YOUR IDEAS OR PREFERENCES doesn't mean it's dumb or retarded or a bad idea.

Not to get off the subject, but how much is the average labor cost for lowering a vette on stock bolts?

I'm assuming you mainly scrape your air dam which isn't anything to worry about, hell it was designed so it could take that made out of flimsy rubber/plastic and on hinges in the center. Save your lower radiator frame with the rollers and trim ~1" off the air dam and you'll be fine. 1" off my air dam has ZERO cooling effects and sits just a hair over the rollers so therefore the air dam NEVER scrapes. If I ever hit anything it is the rollers on steep inclines/declines however I am lowered nearly 3" on coilovers.

Hope this helps!

How do you avoid bottoming out on speed bumps? This is my biggest problem.

This just hasn't been my day. I'm a moron for not driving in the rain and now I'm one for lowering my car.

You really can't. There are some streets around here where the speed bumps are completely across both lanes and 10" high.

My car is lowered all the way on factory hardware and it still scrapes the same as it did stock. It's not a life-changing event as some are exaggerating it to be. I would only be concerned with a full on race drop with coilovers. Common sense > this thread.

Atta boy. I usually do as well, but my new work facility has three big bastards as soon as you drive into the parking structure! Hence, I've only driven it here 1 time.

Usually happens on an unfamiliar street in the dark.
