Default Will this Tire Size work?

Well it looks like my 2002 Z06 picked up another nail in the rear. Why is it that the rear is the only tire on the vette that picks up nails. Anyway it is too close to the side wall and i don't want to waste my time with the shops because my first one they told me it is too close. I currently have Michelin sport 5000 295/35-R18 in the rear and is getting close to warn out. In the front i have the Falken FK-452 265/40-R17. I search for a 293/35-R18 by Falken and it looks like they don't make it. I did find a Falken FK-452 275/40-R18 and i would like to keep all four the same manufacturer.

So how would this affect my 2002 z06?

265/40-R17 --> Front
275/40-R18 --> Rear

Does any one have any pictures as to how this looks or another suggestions!
Pros & Cons please.

Thanks in advance. I need to order tomorrow.

That 275/40x18 is too small for the rear..

Falken makes the FK-452 in 295/30x18 and 285/35x18, either of these would be a better match for the 265/40x17's

The Falken RT 615's are pretty nice if you're really hooked on Falken
You can get them in 315/30x18 and 275/40x17 for your Z06 and thoe sizes WILL fit your OEM wheels....

No need for the flame suit. I posted that info pretty quick forgetting about the sidewall size differences (30/35 & 40) My bad :o

SO, the only size I see that Falken does make that would be suitable for the OP's needs would be the 285/35x18

I have to disagree with a lot of the info in the post directly above. Unless the OP doesn't care about driving the car in Comp mode all the time the tire sizes recommended above are likely to cause the AH-TC to go crazy.

The current front tire (265/40-17) has an overall diameter of about 25.3 inches the rear tire that the OP wanted to go to (275/40-18) has an overall diameter of about 25.6 inches. The recommended difference in front to rear tire overall diameters to avoid AH-TC issues is the rears at least 1/2 inch taller than the fronts. So the combination the OP suggested is not a 1/2 inch taller rear and not a good choice.

The responders suggested 295/30-18 has an overall diameter of about 25.0 inches and the 285/35-18 has an overall diameter of about 26.1 inches. So the 295/30-18 rear with the 265/40-17 front results in the rear tire being shorter than the front which is not good. The 285/35-18 rear with the 265/40-17 works because the rear is about 0.8 inches taller than the front.

The last pairing of 275/40-17 with a 315/30-18 is not good either. The respective overall diameters are 25.7 and 25.5 so the rear is again shorter than the front.

So can you tell me the best/widest tires I can run on my 02 C5? with stock wheels? thanks!
