Which shifter sits lower between the MGW. B&M Precision (not Ripper) and C6 ? I currently have the B&M and like the short throw---but it sits a little higher than I would like. Thanks
I've never had a B&M but I've used both the others and the Hurst. My Hurst and MGW were about the same height. My understanding is that the Hurst and B&M were close in height. It's not difficult to cut the shaft down and rethread if you want it shorter.
Here's an MGW (gen 1) next to a Hurst.
The Hurst next to a C6 and a stock C5 shifter, resp.
Thanks Patches. All those shafts look pretty similar in height. But that last picture you have with the C6 **** looks definitely lower than mine. I guess it could be an optical illusion....but I'm wondering whether it might have something to do with certain ***** screwing down further ??
As Patches mentioned, some of the height difference can be "adjusted" by having a shift **** that is tapped to "max depth". Of course, having the shift **** sit too low will result in higher shift effort. I have a BPP shifter and recently installed a shortened version of the C5R shift ****. It's height helps when shifting into 5th gear.
