Things I've learned...
Think your mods over before you do them, they can actually suck sometimes.
People apparently think Vettes have Superman brakes, because they pull right out in front of you(expecting"the bird" apparently ,because they're not surprised when it is displayed)
The local "green" health food store will take exception to you parking in the "Hybrids Only" spot ("I've got your hybrid, right here")
The general public thinks you're rich, because you drive a Vette.(C3,C4,C5,C6,--wtf is that??)
If it breaks,"It not be cheap" to fix(unless you prowl the bottomless knowledgebase of the Corvette Forum)
You,Your Vette, and some good tunes on the CD player, and an early morning mountain road(or any road, for that matter),are one of the few "good things" that make you feel like it's all been worth it .
Your wife can roll her eyes back alot farther than you've ever seen before. (Yes,a dirty alternator DOES bother me)...
Your wife will actually tell you when "something dripped out of your car last night",because she really does care.
While it's true that a Vette is "just a car", you and I know that it represents more than that- It's as American as you can get, It's a damn fine vehicle, and it was designed for you and me-and that's working out pretty well,IMO
There's more, maybe someone will pick up the ball...

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

and
Clutch, Built Rear End, Headers, CAI+,dynotune, bushings, sway bar, crank position sensor, etc. plus labor----about 6-8k in 8 weeks just from the track.
This does not include the new slotted/drilled brakes and pads, or other little things.
Otherwise, great cars.

I bought it, happy as a clam to keep it the way it was. Well, since last year...
$2000+ for new, upgraded interior;
$800+ in detailing supplies and good waxes, etc.
$1000 or so in other things (aftermarket brakes, etc.)
$1500 for headers, being ordered tomorrow
$300 for vararam
$400 for tune / t-stat / s/h / etc...
then of course it wants new tires ($1000) and a new sound system($????.??)
and of course once i have the headers, the next thing I know my car will be asking for a cam.
But the best part is... all these things make me

I thought I'd buy a $60k sports car that needed extensive modifications to let me use it in my home country. I'd ship it 6000 miles on a boat and use it in a place where gas costs $7 a gallon plus
Great Plan

Oh yes. The Corvette has a strange effect on you
