ALL 50th Anniversary EDITION corvettes were all made in the same dark red color.
I make that point in bold because there is usually a misunderstanding between many folks thinking because their car is made in the 50th year and carry the silver badges that it is the "special edition" car when that is not the case.

Need some other imput but I think that is wrong, it was an anniversary year and I have seen other 03 vettes in other colors and have a anniversary emblem.
I do believe that red was a special color of red for the anniversary year and came in pace car as well in that color . Perhaps the bold of anniversary edition may be correct , it was still an anniversary year

Trust me on this one man. I know what I'm talking about.
Mr "TheDingo" u r correct. In 2003 they made a "Special Edition" which was the Anniversary red metallic paint corvette. Other people who bought in 2003 r just calling it the anniversary corvette because they bought it in 2003 which also happened to b the 50th year and the corvette anniversay. Thanks for clearing this up

Dingo is correct, I wanted a 50th and did a lot of research before buying the NB 98
This has been beaten to death and stomped on until dust.
My understanding is:
All 2003s are Anniversary year vettes and have the 50th logo on the trunk lid and front.
50th Editions are the special red with slate interior and have the 50th logo on the sides where the Z06 emblem would go on that model. It was a $5k option that included some other bells and whistles as well.

You are CORRECT!!
Big difference from the Anniversary YEAR and the Anniversary EDITION.

You are right my friend. I own one and should know. The anniversary Edition was AE red with a beautifull gold metal flake only available on that model. In the sun the color is insane. It also recieved specific to only the AE edition a shale interior, champane colored wheels, special badging outside, embroidered headrests and floor matts. It came with magnetic ride so there were few options other than tranny, 12- CD changer, two tops and BSMouldings.
This was just discussed a day or so ago, and has been discussed many times since 2003.
All 2003 cars had the 50th Anniversary badging front and rear, convertibles, coupes and Z06's.
Only cars that had option code 1SC had the Anniversary Red Paint and the shale interiors, as well as standard F55 Magnetic ride suspension. 1SC was only available on coupes and convertibles in 2003. It was not available on the Z06.
Let's all take a and relax. There is no need to bite someone's head off for asking a question that has been asked before. I've been a member here since 2003 and nearly all of that time has been spent in C5 Gen, so I don't see too many questions that haven't come up before. If you don't want to answer a question, then simply move on to another thread. Peace - my Corvette brothers and sisters. Too many other things in the world going on to get all stressed out on this stuff.
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

All '03's are anniversaries but not all are anniversary editions. Mine has silver emblems and a 50th logo on the tach and speedo. Only the editions are maroon with shale interior and light oak convertible top (if it's a vert).
a pet peeve of mine i suppose because there are a million threads on this subject and everyone is still clueless. I'm on here to help people. My mistake.

The convertible top in an AE edition is shale not light oak. Also the dash is shale not black, the seat have the 50th logo on top and the fenders have the badging, etc. The most obvious observation for the AE edition is the Anniversary red paint. I own one.

Have noticed in many advertisements by independant dealers and sometimes even private parties marketing 03's as "50th anniversary" models attempting to enhance appeal + price. For people less knowledgeable about "50th Anniversary" vs. "50th Anniversary Edition" it can be confusing and misleading.

I bought a black '03 and the owner honestly thought he had an Anniversary Edition and priced the car accordingly. After some explanation, he understood why my offer was below his expectations.
I really want to get 50th Anniversary fender badges but 1) they are really expensive 2) It goes somewhat against form I think.
