Default Rate a Vendor

I've been a forum member for a few months, and have purhased a few items for the Z from the forum. I've had varying experience with the vendors thus far.

LAPD - I purchased a GM bra. These guys were great. As I recall, the stuff was at my door supper quick . . . no hastle, no problem.

Zaino - I don't think the check cleared before I had the product.

CAU - I ordered a ZO6 exhaust plate . . . they e-mailed me back that they were out of stock, appologized for the inconvience, but never responded to any further e-mails. Even today I don't know if I'll get one when they receive new stock or what.

Corvetteforum Mall - Never did anything more than acknowledge receipt of the order. Never e-mailed that it was shipped or anything. I new something was happening because I saw the charge on my credit card.

In all cases, I received everything I ordered. Some faster and less stressful than others.

What are your experiences?

I've done business with Extreme, Exit-28, Eckler's, and Breathless Peformance. No complaints on the service from any of them. RG at Exit-28 has provided top notch, personalized service with rapid email responses. Eckler's has always been great on resolving any problems.

By and large, I'd say all the Forum vendors do a great job!

When I created this post I was hoping that any vendors whose performance or demeanor that was less than good would be identified by those forum members that had had a bad experience. I'll be the first to bet that most of the vendors are good and reliable about meeting their end of the agreement.
My experiences, while varied, haven't been that bad/

Well guys look out . . . there is at least one forum vendor (???) that doesn't seem to want to play it above board and do the right thing. One of our compatriots (I can't recall who) has returned about $1000 in merchandise and is apparantly getting the run around regarding a refund. The forum member is reluctant to name names, but 'caveate emptor' has never been truer than when it comes to buying merchandise via the internet. I couldn't afford a thousand dollar hit, and I'll bet many of you couldn't either.

Too bad the forum member won't identify the culprit and save others from going through the same grief.

Be careful and do factor in restocking as well as initial pricing.XTREME not only has among the lowest prices on 90% of produts offerd we are the only vendor forum and non forum with NO RESTOCKING FEES OF ANY KIND.If something costs $1,000.00 and you return it unused next month for ANY reason you pay FRT.there and back(out of pocket) and thats it.
All other vendors go as hi as 20-30% so if its 1000.00 pesos and you see it for 850.00 and you want to return it Vendor "A" gets his 250.00 you get back 750 add 100.00 to re-purchase the product its 1100.00 now at XTREME we will beat any one elses price if you can find it cheaper to start with and it does happen on rare occasions.
So be care ful of initial pricing and double careful with re-stocking
Yours Truly.David Smilovic.

I love the Forum Mall. It's great to be able to see all the lowest prices on so many items. I really only have had one complaint with one of my experiences wih it.

I ordered a Blackwing through the Mall many moons ago. The order was kicked to Xtreme, and I was told in an email from Xtreme that the item had been shipped. Well, it turns out the Nate had to go out of town on some very serious matters, and so there was a week of time where I didn't hear anything about the order. When I DID next hear something, I learned that the Blackwings were on b/o, that mine actually hadn't shipped (obviously), and that I'd be "next on the list." Nate paid the shipping on the item so as to make up for the wait (and that was good of him). But, I didn't like the misinformation I was given.

So, this leads me to the complaint about the way the Mall works. If an order is kicked to a given vendor, then it should only go to that vendor if the vendor has the stuff in stock, and will get it right out to the buyer. If not, it should go to someone else. And I think you should know who it's coming from prior to the order being accepted (if it IS set up that way, then I've always missed that info somehow). I'm not even sure if the Mall works in a way that checking on this is possible, but it sure would make life easier.

For me, knowing that LAPD gets stuff out THAT DAY and with free shipping makes me lean toward LAPD for my orders. Simply great service!

-Kirk

PS -- I was somewhat skeptical about mentioning Xtreme in this post as me having had a problem with them, since most people have had no problems. It was an isolated incident, I imagine. :)
