Hi guys im normally in the C3 area but was wondering what you guys think about Jake (the racing skull), is he a Corvette thing or do you guys claim him as a C5/C6 thing? how would you feel seeing him on a C3 vette?

 

I'd say a big !

Seeing as Jake's technically a racing team logo (Bad Boy Vettes), anyone who'd tell you "you can't put that on a C3" must have a race-only C5 or C6.

Yep I sure do I have 3 on the outside(sides of the halo and top window in back) of my car and 3 inside (my head rests and on one on my armrest)... I am going to redo the center caps with jakes instead of corvette flags and the floormats eventually... I would post pics but none available at the time. I wouldnt mind jake on a C3 its corvette racing not C5 or C6

My car Is a vette so I corvette badges on it
it's not a team race car and I would not put a teams badge on that I didn't belong to.

If you want to put one on your C3 have fun
I can't see that it makes any less sense than a C5-6.
My question to you would be why?
You own the coolest car on the road.
My advice is if you must customize it then make it one of a kind. Don't just slap someone elses sticker on your pride and joy.

 

Jake is cool

 

Have a Jake decal on my car - and I see nothing wrong with you sporting one of the decals on your C3.

 

 

Like it best on the C6r

Not a good idea IMO on classics.
If it was on a '58 or a 78 it would just look silly.

 

Jake is the Corvette Racing mascot...he's kool...but you better at least be autocrossing if you're going to display him.

Don't pay attention to all this purist that claim Jake is for race cars only, and don't mess up a great car by putting a sticker on it. First off here is a little history on Jake.

Some members of Bad Boy Vette’s were at Le Mans in 2004 and they met the Corvette Racing team. They noticed that the team had unofficially embraced skull icons as a symbol of the take-no-prisoners mentality of those intense 24 hours. "TAKE NO PRISONERS" was actually scrawled on the wall of the Corvette pit.

They thought that the team should have its very own skull icon and they sketched their idea on a cocktail napkin.

The C6.R "Mascot" made its debut on C6.R's b pillars the next year at the 2005 Le Mans race. They've been on the C6.R's ever since.

So Jake is a mascot for Corvette Racing and if you support the team or if you simply like the looks of Jake go for it, after all it is your car. I have one on my C5, lower center rear hatch glass, and yes it is the C6, as that was the only Jake produced. There are C5 Jakes, but they are homemade, oh yes and not legal.

One last point, is Jake is a licensed and trademarked product of GM. And one last thing, the idea that it needs to be a track car to put Jake on, check out the ZR1, as it is on it.
