There are much better products than Dynamat. Raamat and Second Skinds products come to mind.
I spoke to the second skin people, very knowledgeable vendor and have done a lot of Vette’s; about 500 bucks and your Vette will be quite as a Lincoln, doing mine in the spring
I gutted my whole interior, then put down 1/8" closed cell foam with spray adhesive, and then put foil insulation over that and it took me seven hours.

I did half my car with Dynamat and then switched to RaaMat half way through. The RaaMat was cheaper and MUCH EASIER TO WORK WITH and I got the same results. With the Dynamat my fingers looked like they had been sliced by 100 razor blades - no cuts on my hands with the RaaMat and much easier to cut and mold.
I also used Ensolite as a top layer over all the Dynamat/RaaMat for sound insulation.
I did the rear section of my coupe and took me most part of a day to install Fatmat
and then some foam overtop to keep the exterior noise down.
Here are some photos, also did both doors with the Fatmat that took a day.

Am a second skin, fan, took me 5 days, I wasn't in a rush or hurrying.
The result was well worth the effort.
Good Luck on your product choice and the project.
1) Don't use an asphalt product (My info may be out of date, fatmat might be butyl now.
2) Don't cover the entire car. You could get 95% of that benefit from 25% of that material.
Second skin is superior to dynamat in price and quality.
Key areas:
Door panels (inside wall and outside wall)
Wall Behind seats
Cargo area
Took me WAY longer than most because i was installing a complete system and building an amp rack at thee same time. Assuming you're JUST doing dynamat, it can be knocked out in 1 day if you're persistant, but i'd suggest at least 2 solid days to do it right.
and i'd use a 2-handed roller and shop gloves wheen applying it.
Definately a do-it-yourself and worth it. I think I spent 18 hours on my 350Z. Take your time and pull as much carpet, seats and coverings as you can. When its done its very rewarding
