Anyone else have the problem with their digital climate control dim. Sometimes it doesn't light up at all. A few swift taps sometimes fixes it. Any easy cheap solutions for this?
Don't mean to hijack the thread but the problem (or is it) I have is when I start the car, the climate control display takes a couple of seconds to light up to full intensity. It's as if it needs a couple of seconds to warm up. I wonder if this is normal?

It is the same issue. The solder joints for 6 or 8 resistors on the power circuit board are bad. Search for "dim HVAC" for instructions on how to fix.

Send us your unit and we will fix it for you. If you don't have any soldering experience I would suggest not trying out on your HVAC. We charge $56 for this.
Order our popular HVAC LED upgrade and we fix that for you free! Only $90 + $9 shipping until the end of the month.

Funny you mention that, my '00 is all but gone and I'm just calling my Chevy service advisor (she's cute) to see if my GMPP will cover it on my '03, it just bugged out this morning, not even tapping on the display works. The three *** job on the FRC's and some coupes are soooooo much better.
If this is such a problem for everyone, why wont GM fix it for free??? It should be a recall or something! Mine is doing the same thing however I have not gotten around to trying to fix it. I really dont think I should have too. This is why I bought the BEST. So that I can fix the A/C myself? This is very sad to me and makes me understand why GM is having the hard time they are.
I did mine today. Took about an hour total or less until it was done and the tools put away. Was not a big deal at all, and I am not good with a soldering iron. Anyone on the fence about taking on this job - go for it
