Got a new set of Bridgestone Potenzas today on 02Z. They replaced a set of Firestone Wide Ovals. So far I like them better. The ride and traction are much better although I know the Firestones where pretty old and hard. Traction was non exsistant with them. I think the Bridgestones look better as well. I also took the opportunity to install the TPS sensors at this time and it took tech at dealership about 5 minutes to get them up and running. Headers/cam/intake car with 97k
miles that still runs really strong and looks great! Still has the original clutch. These cars are great
Sweet! Always nice to hear of our cars running strong w/ higher mileage. I'm about to hit 75K and still running like a champ. Love these cars! Absolute BEST bang for the buck out there.
were the B'stones more exp. than going with the F'stones?
On Tire Rack they are almost exactly the same price. I went with a local dealer and got them for 840.00 out the door mounted and balanced. Got 100.00 for the old Firestones to a friend that needed them. They still had decent tread left.
Which Potenzas??? The RE050As on my wife's Infiniti are MUCH better that the Firestone WO, BUT have a UTOG rating of only 140! For comparison, the Nitto NT-05s on my Z06 have a UTOG of 200 and PS-2s are 220, and both are considered pretty stickey.

I put the RE760's on my 04Z about a month ago and I love them. Traction is very nice, plus they do look good and tread depth is considerable more then the supercars.
Well I would direct you to the Autocross and Roadrace froum. If you are looking for performance tires, I would suggest that you look at the Nitto NT-05 and Bridgestone RE-050As. These are NON-R-compound street tires which will also give very good track performance.
MY 01 C5Z has 88K on the clock.. lovin it!! Here is what happened to my last Bridgestone Potenza...
Mine did the exact same thing or was starting too, even on the inside like yours. They only had around 10K miles on them as well. I replaced them with Toyo's

get bit, How old were they? Are you guys feeling that there is a defect in this tire?
oh1z06--I know u said they are good tires so I presume you had a road hazard issue?
I'm leaning towards these tires instead of the wide ovals due to good reviews, good price and nice tread pattern. I have worn wide ovals and I could easily go with those for a similar price, but I'd prefer to go to disc. tire instead of firestone.
I'm going with the Hankooks vent. v12 on G35 dd from disc. tire too--sizes 225/40/19 and 255/35/19s for the same reasons I mentioned about the bridgestones. Not considering these for the z06 b/c they don't have the stock sizes for them.
