I just went into my garage and heard a noise coming from mt 2001 Z06.
(the car is off and keys out of the ignition)
It sounds like a buzzer going off somewhere in or behind the glove compartment. It went off after a few minutes.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be???

Check with the wife or girl friend to see if they left one of their new "toys" in your car.
Bahahahaha!!! I had that exact same thing happen to me tonight!! NO JOKE!! Try popping the hood next time it happens. If it sounds like its your battery (right behind your glove compartment) then, it might be a charger kicking in?? No idea actually, but I do know that I had a dead battery in like 5 minutes. Put a trickle charger on her for about 4 hours and she started right up. And the buzzing went away. Hope this helps.

I had a similar thing happen to me. After the car had sat for an extended period of time while I was doing a bunch of mods, the battery ran down more than I thought it would. When I tried to start it, there was all sorts of buzzing noises and lights flashing. I quickly shut it off and pulled the key. The car sounded like it was about to blow up. Once I charged the battery and tried to start it again, all was fine, no noises.
I know you said it was behind the glove box compartment, but if its a buzzing sound it could be the fuel pump at the rear of the car. Thats the only thing I can think of as far as a buzzing sound.
Man only an AA??? My wifes plugs into the wall. HAHAHA
J/K if she read this I would be in deep chit. And yes it obviously was the battery causing and the noise coming from the fuse block behind your pass. floor mat.
