I won't get back onto the road until April. Sometimes it's depressing... knowing I have these new headers but unable to road-test... BUT: The first day I get to drive it again each spring, is JUST LIKE the first day I ever drove a Corvette period! It's so worth it. It's like buying a new corvette every single year!

I do feel fortunate that I can "store" my car in my garage. I love walking down there just to look at it and go "wow, that's cool." If I had to store it off-site, I'm sure I would be substantially more frustrated.
Not trying to hijack...but how difficult and how long was the header install?

It wasn't too horrible... nothing overly complex, just tedious. I stretched it over two days; I'd say not counting the downtime inbetween it took about 8 hours. I wasn't in a huge hurry and took my time learning a few more things about how the car was put together in the process. Tricky part was snaking the headers in, but they DID fit. I used Cajundude's instructions, which are fantastic and can give you a good look at what a header install involves.

While I had no exhuast system in the way, I installed a reinforced tunnel plate from LG Motorsports. Definitely a good idea!

I know your withdrawal pains.
My '01 is hibernating in a friends poll barn, but at least you have the Packers playing for another week. We have the Lions.....

Ha,,or you could have our St.Louis rams(notice I left it in lower case letters) Even though some of my Mid-West brethren store theirs for the winter,,I drive mine through the winter,,,only leaving mine sit out the actually nasty days. With the holidays hustle an bustle, mixed with some dicey weather,,she DID sit for about a week! I got her out on New Years Eve,,and New Years Day and on till today(had stuff to haul,so I had to use the truck!! I understand the Wisconsin and Alaska plight though,,,,you don't have a lot of choice when you start measuring snow in feet!! To the ones not in perma-snow,,,,,if snow is not on the ground,,,I say DRIVE IT,,,these cars have GREAT heaters!!!!These cars handle single digit temps in stride,,,I just wait till the oil temp is between 80 and 100 degrees before I get frisky with the throttle!! Try it you might like it!!!

Are you looking for a pool boy? I'm 61-years old, but I'm very responsible.

Last fall fellow Forum member - KapsSA - posted that he had some storage space available due to one of his "regulars" having his car serviced. I immediately jumped on the opportunity and even though he is located over an hour away, I liked knowing my "Baby" is in good hands and spending this winter with a number of other really nice Vettes.
The day my wife and I dropped the car off was the first time I met Mike and was totally impressed by how accomodating he was and condition of his 4 Vettes. By the time I left I felt like I knew him for a long time.
Just like the rest of you, I really miss driving my car or having it in my garage to take a look at every once in a while. But I am grateful that my car is being stored in a really nice facility and the best part is that I made a new friend with a really great guy. That's the beauty of this Corvette Forum community!!!

Time to do some Mods!
I am doing the door speakers today and tomorrow. That will finish the complete overhaul of the stock system. Next week I am doing the Vararam install,160 thermostat and new idler and tensioner for the a/c belt. Since it will be easier to get to since I will be able to tilt the radiator a little, I say what the heck.
Oh well winter will fly and spring will be here soon
