I think I had seen a thread a long while ago where a guy was using a K&N filter, and the wrench aided bottom part of it had bottomed out, and it made a hole in the botom of the filter.

Oh I don't doubt your experience at all, And just cause I never saw something sure as hell don't mean squat. I'd be scared like hell if I saw my oilpressure guage drop off like you had happen. It's a shame in our world here that you can't trust one single company to have "standards" so we the buying public don't have to worry that one of their products will develope a hole while we're riding down the road. Everything is either 'Made in China' or Mexico or worse. All I can say is I hope it doesn't happen again. Be well !
