Default rear stainless letters

Has anyone ever removed and re-applied the stainless letters? If so,,,how? The bottom right corner of the R sticks out just enough to catch the towel. Rest of the letters are perfect. I think if I could get it off safely then I could file that sharp pointed corner off some. Guess I would need some new 3M tape too, anyone on here sell the tape? Thanks guys

Take it out, clean the back of it real well (and the indent) and apply
3M double-sided tape to the back of the letter. Then use a razor to cut the tape so that it conforms to the letter. Peel the plastic off, then re-apply.

That is a lot of tape per area on those inserts. I could understand being worried about the paint possibly peeling?????

I would use some lighter fluid or goo be gone to assist breaking down the adhesive properties of the tape just to be safe. Applying with a surienge would probably be optimal. R/ Al

Works like a charm - just be sure you don't scratch the outside surface of the letter up when doing all this. Don't ask me how I know that.

If you or a friend has access to a Dremmel , I would use that to round off a sharp corner of a letter. They make some very small drum sanders that should work just fine. Just be sure to put some tape around the letter for protection of the paint and USE A STEADY HAND!!! Good luck.

Yes, that's a good way to soften the glue and aids in removing
