Default Vararam question

i install the vararam intake on my 03 zo6, it feels like an improvement. But when you are cruising down the freeway, it has tendency to buck or sputter. I am not sure if something is wrong or is it suposed to be like this.

That is definitely not normal, it sounds like you may have damaged the mass air flow sensor (or perhaps have an air leak somewhere along the intake path) when you installed the Vararam.

Did you disconnect the battery ground for about 30 seconds after the install? It is normal for you to get some "surging" for about 50 miles or so while your PMC relearns the new airflow. It will stop doing that after a bit. Check your pm's!

Give Vararam support a call. They are very helpful.

I would give the computer a chance to re-learn. If that does not work, then would check the MAF, and all the connections around that to see if something is damaged, or loose possibly.

Sounds like a air leak after the MAF. I installed a smooth bellows on my wife's car, and it behaved just like yours. Turned out to be a leak on the bottom side of the bellows where it connected to the air bridge

air leak and the bottom side may well be the culprit since you can't see it and can only feel the fit.

After checking your connections you need to do a idle relearn. This is common when you switch intakes.

It usually takes about 20-50 miles to adjust, but mine took longer. Go out for a long drive and it will eventually stop.

I installed a Vararam and I have noticed a sputter, but only when very windy (heavy gusts) and if I am driving directly INTO the wind. I am assuming it's a temporary lean condition. I guess I am getting a little bit of supercharging, courtesy of Mother Nature! hahahaa
