That's radar he is talking about. This makes it hard for radar detectors to pick up the signal until it's too late.

True. Dgrant answered the other questions.

The whole idea is quite interesting. I guess these would be illegal in some areas as radar detectors are even illegal in some states.

Yet, aren't the average laser jammers an improved Park Distance Control sensor?

But I guess since they are not mounted inside the bumper like other models thats what gives them away.

....and just to be clear, I am not suggesting we all drill those 5 or 6 little circles for the sensors into the front and rear fascia of our C5s! But can you use that as an excuse if you get pulled over?

"Really officer, I am terrible at parallel parking so I really had to install them"

My little one-car garage is about a car and a half long. The front part is packed with my stuff that I don't want to throw out which leaves just enough room for my C-6. The parking sensor works just fine and I needed it.
Now out on the road, just because you have a jammer that has a second option as a parking sensor doesn't mean you are running the jammer portion and in fact, you might have disconnected the jammer mode wire from the switch therefore its disabled. The officer would have no way of knowing and I suspect a search warrant would be needed although I'm not a legal person in any way. It would be easy to wire a hidden switch to open up the one wire to the jammer mode therefore disabling that mode completely. In fact, I might just do that to be extra safe. "Sorry officer but this device is only a parking sensor and nothing else. It has the capability but in order to follow the law, I've disabled that feature and you can see here, it does nothing in that mode. Maybe one of the new BMW's with the laser based cruise control was there which is known to mess with your lidar and I thought I had just seen a late model BMW a couple of minutes ago. Sorry but I didn't do it."

I have a quick installation question.......

I'm thinking of the wire mesh on the front bumper of my Z06 would be a stealthy mounting place for the front sensors. Can you mount them behind the wire mesh?

You can, but it will not work correctly. The sensors need to be in front of the screens. This is the reason I have held off on ordering, as I have a Z06 with screens.

I agree, in front of any mesh screens. Even without a screen, they are barely visible from the outside since the car is so low.
