Default Drag Radial Question

I have a set of 275/40/17 NITTO Drag radials from my 98 Vette.
They are nearly new and mounted on Chrome 17" rims. I hate to sell em and buy new rims and radials but I am concerned that I will not get the grip I need for the 02 Z06 I now have. I am not a hard core drag racer, just an occasional Test & Tune week- end. Should I keep them or sell and invest in all new rims and tires or just use the stock 295 Goodyear Supercar tires?

The answer to your question depends on how much money you want to spend to drop your ET.

Wide DR on wide wheels will be more consistent and a little better in the 60' and 330'. But they'll cost you about $1200 dollars.

Properly heated stock F1SCs are capable of mid 1.8x 60' but they suffer some in holding the shift to second compared to 315.35.17 DR.

Lot of people have done some mid-1.8s or lower 60' on stocks, with good shifting that can get you around 12.2Xs on a well prepped track. If that's not fast enough, you'll need to spring for the big DRs.
