You will probably be able to feel a little difference and even measure the difference, but it will not be a big change. A 3.42 is a much better bang for the buck.

yeah, but from what I've read about the rpm change 3.42 gives you aprox. what driving in the 3rd with 2.73's as far as rpm's go....
So,I was driving for a while in 3rd (A4) and the buzz gets on my nerves some.....

You'll be able to tell a difference. I test drove mine with the 3.15 before I drove another one w/2.73 and could tell a big difference. The 2.73 felt sluggish off the line and would hardly break traction.

You will tell a difference, Next thing you need to do is have Chuck CoW tune your computer for the change and you will really see a big difference.

I think you're spending a lot of money for very little gain.

I'd go 3:42's or not at all.

I'm just sayin'.

If you drive alot, the 3.15 is a good choice, lower RPMs and better sound in the cockpit when crusing at 80mph

3:42 is the only way to fly. Just did the mod and its a hellofa thing let me tell you. Slight loss of fuel economy and highway drivablility, but a whole lotta fun and still good as DD.

No point in going 3:15 unless you have an MN6 and plan on making a top speed pass. Go for the gold- you'll love it.

I driven a Vette with a 2:73 and I installed a 3:42 in it. I could tell a little differance, but I do agree it is the bast bang for the buck, your ET's will improve also

Yes!!! But you would of been out of your mind happy with the 3.42's!

I went from the 3.15's to the 3.42's and felt a huge difference! You will see definite difference with your swap!

Make sure you have the PCM programmed for the 3.15's or you will have CODES everywhere and be bouncing off your REV Limiter often!

Thanks,Matt

Not so! That was an incorrect statement - nowhere near driving around in 3rd, here is a chart:

I hardly doubt that driving around in 3rd gear at 70 MPH, with your 2.73's, is at 2100 RPM it is way higher

Thanks,Matt

I went from 2.73 to 3.42 and I did feel a big seat of the pants difference. Be sure to have it tuned for the max benefit!

You may have missed his point...What he means is he tried to simulate it with his 2.73. But I am not sure what he means by buzzing? What exhaust do you have OP?

I went from 3:15s to 3:42s and there is no "buzz" at speed in OD. Why would you want to drive around in 3rd? Be sure to raise the tranny pressure and shorten the shift times when they reprogram your computer.

thanks for all the opinions guys.....
I already bought 3.15 for ,I think good price and will pay the guy at the dealer to do it for $250 cash...for that money I'd rather wait at sturbucks than flat backing it most of the day.....
Will give my opinions next weekend. Also have diablo predetor so I'll adjust the mph shifting points....
