Went to fire up the car in storage last week and found the battery dead...put it on the charger...no charge...so my question...What battery should i put in it?
Hook up a good battery with a full charge parallel to the dead then hook up a charger. Charge for 1 hour so you read at least 10.5 volts then disconect the good battery and continue to charge until full charge
may save you buying a new battery

How old is the dead battery? If it is pushing 5 years, I would recommend getting a new battery (this move may save you grief later). A stock battery will last about 4-5 years at most. Mine didn't last that long. I bought an Auto Zone Duralast - Gold battery and I haven't had a problem with it. I did buy a "Ctek" battery tender to help with the longevity, since the Vette is somewhat a garage queen. Also if you bring the old battery in your local Auto Zone store, they will do a test to see if it's still good or needs replacing.
you guys are awesome!!! thanks so much for the quick response. i have a buddy who is a mechanic at a chevy dealership here in town...he put it on his charger and nada
