I believe the batterys are only replaceable on the early sensors (1997 - 2000) and even then it may not be something you can do your self.

No that is too much check with GM parts house a forum vendor http://www.gmpartshouse.com/ thats where I got mine. Their are 2 different types I have a 97 that is the more expensive of the 2 and it was still cheaper than that.

I think if you were to check closely that "rebuild" is actually just a new exterior nut, valve stem, cap and perhaps an o'ring if you have the old style sensors (new style does not have a serviceable o'ring). I had them want to do that when I put new rear tires on and I declined the extra expense ( $7.50 per wheel).
