Silver C5 appearance modification ideas?
Hey Guys,
Trying to get some ideas for some appearance mods.
Any suggestions on what color to powder coat the calipers with a silver car?
What about the headlights... What options do we have? I love the C6 lights.
Also been toying with the idea of picking up a set of polished c6 wheels.
I've seen a few vettes with the corvette on the back (on the rearend) a different color... Looks great on the cars I've seen but I have no clue what would look good with silver.
Shares some ideas, or even better pics for appearance mods?

I like! Don't know if the chrome accents would look as good with my silver though? Love the color of your car.
The wheels look fantastic and the accents you added are great, very tasteful.

far as having the C6 look with the headlights, there arent too many options out there. I went with what i think was the best fixed headlight option out there which is the breathless performance headlights then added HID bulbs.
far as the calipers most go with red but you could paint them the color of your car or go black.

As far as caliper colors there are several you can do on the silver car. Mine are bright red and I like them. I've seen black and blue painted and they look good too. Just do what you like.

There are some nice (legal) HID Upgrade options that don't make you sacrifice the pop ups. I plan to install mine shortly and will post pics when I do. However there are already members here who have the ACA HIDs, Light Cannons, etc. with other options in the works...

Installing an HID lamp inside the stock reflective OEM housings that were built and designed for Halogen bulbs.
Legal HID lights are projectors and have a straight light cut-off. HIDs installed in stock OEM reflective housings will simply blast bright light everywhere. You're night vision will improve, however you will be blinding the drivers in cars coming at you.
Some guys get away with it or simply don't care about other drivers/cars on the road. However, most cops can tell the difference.

Technically, there is nothing to prevent you from installing an HID light in a stock OEM housing. Many are made just for that, however they are not DOT compliant.
Personally, the cops around where I live are ***** when it comes to this kind of stuff, so I want to make sure all my mods are DOT compliant and I don't bring any negative attention as my Vette already gets enough (good) attention.
On the flip side, I have a couple friends who are cops and they are the ones that really educated me on all this stuff. Most cops look the other way at little things, however they also let certain people they are targeting who are associated with other crimes, get away with these little things only to provide a reason for them to pull them over at their discretion later on.

The same reason you can buy blackouts, illegal window tint, plate covers, etc., in aftermarket parts. Look at the fine print on the packaging and most say, "for off-road or show use only" or something like that the covers the manufacturer and allows them to sell the parts despite DOT compliance issues.

Seriously, I'm not trying to be a PITA, just passing on what I've been told. If you walk into these neighborhood mod shops, they will sell anyone anything, legal or not.

For the calipers, torch red goes very well with silver. And for the rear letters, something like the brakelight red epoxy letters looks great.

There was a pewter vette with a high rise carbon fiber hood with just the rise left carbon fiber, that looked sweet! The halo mod is painting the halo "body piece between rear window and roof panel) black. That looks nice as well. A local vette guy has the same color car as you with blue calipers and caliper brackets. That looked very nice as well!
