Default First ever vette

Boy I am jazzed. Just bought my first ever Vette, a YR 2000 convertible. Magnetic red, oak interior/top. 20,900 miles, paid $20.5K. Yippee! Question--living in AZ, I'll probably be driving mostly top down (what else?). But should I be storing the car in my garage with top up or top down? Any difference? Weekend driving, probably 4-5/K miles/year. What about a front bra? Necessary, suggested?

Probably best to store it with the top up. Even though I park in a garage my top's almost always up. Reasoning is it keeps the dust and particulate that settles off the interior.

As for the bra, I'd say no. Even with as much care as possible, it's still going to rub on the paint like an abrasive surface (think of all the grit that'll get caught in it while you're driving). Look up 'clear bras' as an alternative.

Congrats on the ride! Post some picts, man, AZ's got some beautiful countryside!

Congrats on the purchase. I would store it with the top up. I think 3M makes some kind of clear protection for the paint that would go much better than the bra.

Going with the rest, store it up. Don't want critters and bugs crawling in the cabin.

I've left mine down for a day or two in the garage but even then I prefer to take a few minutes and put it up.

Congrats on new vette. Enjoy!!!

Top off season - I throw a couple of towels across my coupe with the windows up to keep the dust out. I drive mine all the time. The top stays off for weeks at a time. The Vert top is so easy to put up and down, if I had one the top would go up when it went in the garage even if I didn't latch it!
