Default How much more does it weigh????

I have a 01 Z and was considering putting headers, x-pipe and cat backs on it. How much more would the aftermarket parts weigh over the stock equipment?

Default Weight of LTs

I'm not sure that it would weigh any more than the stock set up. I used to have shortys on my car and they weigh a lot less than the stock manifolds. Any body done a comparison between LT, X pipe, and the stock set up?

the headers generally weigh less than the manifolds. The place that will add weight will be the muffler section. I know those can range from 5-15 lbs over stock Ti depending on what system is chosen.

The headers will weigh less. I'd do the headers and x-pipe. The stock cat back flows very well as is.

I was also considering eliminating the cats due to my area has no emission testing, is this worth the time and how much extra power could I add?

By adding headers you lose between 30-40lbs, the stock stuff is really heavy! The stock maniflds are cast iron, the mid pipe has thick walled steal with big cats. Headers are just some stainless tubes, and if you go catted they are small lightweight cats. And if your putting headers on you order your headers without cats and it is no more time to install it with or without them.

So the titanium exhaust is just the cats back correct......the mid pipe is not titanium?

So if went with headers, no cats and a x pipe, and left the Ti in place what type of HP gain could I expect and what would be the weight diffrence vs stock exhaust?

Would a tune after headers be necessary?

LG Super pro headers with the high flo cats of course, and some light/cheap Borla XR-1s. Everyone of course has their opinion on headers/pipes... XR-1s are true straight pipe, and LG uses slightly thinner walled headers. I wish someone made Titanium headers, jeez I can get em for rice burning Subarus and my Gixxer 750 but not a vette what gives?

No cats are only worth 5-6 hp, but the gas fumes will be fun.

Stock LH & RH manifold (including heat shields & gaskets) = 15.7 lbs. each.
Factory X pipe including converters and flanges = 37.5 lbs.
Grand total = 68.9 lbs.
Hope this helps.
