I have a set of brand new wheel locks still in the bag they came in.
If anyone wants to steal your wheels, they'll take the car, its easer. So don't waste your money on those locks and if you do buy them you better not lose the key.

GORILLA lug nuts/locks from DISCOUNT TIRE or SUMMIT RACING come in show chrome or black.

Buy them in a package of four or a system of twenty. They use a socket "key" that encloses the locking lug nut(s).

Timely question as I just finished upgrading my stock lug nuts to the McGard black chrome lugs. Initial feelings are that these lugs are much more solid feeling and appear to hold up better to the socket/lug wrench. I purchased the black lugs because I'm eventually going to get black wheels. My setup is 4 of the mcgard lock nuts, and then did the rest with the standard acorn lug. They fit very tightly and will hopefully be much more resistant to breakage. My old lugs had a few break off on the top, and were in general, very poor quality pieces. These seem much better.

The locking nuts are completely round and it would be very difficult to get a socket around them without the key. Much more effective then the stock locking nut, which could easily be turned with a smaller socket jammed onto the end of the lug wrench. I feel much better about these lug nuts then my old stock ones, and they look way better. All in all, very pleased and the price was right. I purchased mine at amazon.com for the free shipping and no tax.

Here's a low res iPhone picture, all I have since I just put them on this weekend:

Default unconventional

Mcgard also has these, Spline Drives with Lock. Unconventional lug style that adds even more sense of security I think.

I got them on my C6 Z06 Wheels.
