Default Chromeies or Catback... (poll)

I'll make this short and sweet.

I'm deciding between the Big 3" catback, and Chrome repo rims.

I have put in lowering bolts, slammed it hard, and blacked out the windows. Besides that my Z06 is stock.

Visually the Chrome Repos will spice up the look some over my stock Alcoa rims.

My buddy's Z06 has among many other mods: LTs, Corsa + Cam, a very nice sound. I'd like to achieve something close (I know I don't have the Cam or LTs)

I like the sound of the Big 3" more (from what i've heard online)

So poll time... Rims or Catback.

I'm worried the catback won't be loud enough with out LTs High Flo Cats and X pipe... and there's nothing I can do about the cam at this point... it'll be a while before I get that far.

For those out there who have thrown on Catback (Big 3", Corsa, PTR, ect) how much louder was it over your TI? I'm sure bullets are loud no matter what, so to all those that reply "just put on bullets, you'll hear it for sure..." thanks =]

I went with new catback exhaust before I changed the stock thin spokes. I now have a set of the C6 Z06 chrome wheels, but I wanted a more aggressive sound before a wheel change. Now if you had wagon wheels, that would be a different story.

Neither, why do you want to make your car slower?

Z06 already has very nice lightweight rims and also very nice lightweight catback.

Personally i would go with an intake or headers.

repro chromes will be heavy as hell and probably not hold up to the elements. I have seen several chrome repros paint flake off.

I think the 2-3hp gain from the catback will off set the 5lb difference in weight.

I can't vouch for how much the repo rims weigh, i'm sure different brands are different weights. HouseofWheels.com sold my friend his set a few years back, and they look brand new on his DD.

My Z isn't my DD, so it will never see "the elements" =]

Vararam is cheaper than the other two, and something I can ask the woman to get me for my Birthday.

I did consider LTs, possibly my next poll will be repo's or LTs, if I decide to go with the Big 3".

i think the b&b bullets is the only exhaust system that weighs as little as the ti system on a z06, so if you wanted to get a louder exhaust that would be the one to get. you may also consider the bypass mod.

Catback is closer to 10-15lbs heavier and you won't see any hp gain on a stock/bolt-on motor. But yes sometimes sound is cool. I think my car with headers/catless x pipe and stock Ti sounds pretty good. Plenty loud at WOT and you will know i'm coming.

Heavier rims, you can actually feel/notice. Your talking a good 5-6lbs heavier per wheel. That's 20+lbs of rotating mass.

Again it's all what you want to do, i would personally look into chroming the OEMs or finding a set on here if you like chrome, i think they are too gaudy that is why i sold my chromed speedlines on here for $800.

Hard choice. You want to look good and sound good.

I chose rims.

Get the cat back & intake then save some $$$ and get an 18/19 wheel set up, with larger tires.
