Dancing Seat?
I'm curious if anybody else has this problem.
Occaisionally, when I turn the key in the ignition to start the vette, my driver's seat does a little "dance" going back and forth for a second or two. The easy entry option has been turned off, so that shouldn't be an issue. The only idea I have is that my ignition switch sticks a little, and maybe that has something to do with it.
That is not a "dancing" seat - that is one of the "female" seats released in small quantities.
These were quickly replaced by their "male" counterparts which had less trouble making a decision and had a natural propensity to not moving unless absolutely necessary. The genetic trait in the female seat mechanisms was a carryover from the mystery of why women have to move the furniture around in a living room for no apparent reason.
My guess is its just the memory function operating. It does hunt a little as it sets the position.
"When first entering your vehicle, after pressing the
unlock button on your remote keyless entry transmitter
or a MEMORY button, a recall of your settings will
occur when the door is closed and the ignition key is in
the ignition switch."
The settings are not called until the key is in. If you turn the key immediately, the power interrupt will cause a little jiggle. Maybe if you leave it until the seat has stopped moving before starting the car.

Spoken like someone who's been married for quite awhile...and possibly not anymore.
