Default need more HP

I have an 02 z06, with bullet exhaust and vararam intake, and looking to get more HP. Was thinking headers and maybe a mid pipe. Dont know too much about this stuff. I would like to spend around 2000, but will spend more if its worth it. Can somebody point me in the right direction? thanks

Headers in themselves will only gain you about 10-15 hp.

Cars with just a cold air intake and tune typically run 370rwhp.
Cars with headers and intake typically run 380-385 rwhp.
You'll have to judge weather the cost is worth it.

LG streets are a great value now, so if you install yourself the cost won't be too high.

Air intake and porting the Throttle body are really the only cheap mods. After that prepare to spend some bucks for power unless you throw on a cheap nitrous kit, but then it will evenually add up if you're filliing the bottle frequently.

Sorry, you must be just looking at the cost of the cam only. To safely do a larger cam swap you need a list of items that are going to run $1,200 - $1,600. And that's if you do all the labor yourself. And LG pro kits are near $1,600 themselves. Don't forget the cost of a good tune, another $350-$500.

At a minimum you need better springs and pushrods. Then other items to consider "while your at it," Ported oil pump, LS2 timing chain, titaneum retainers, seats and seals.

Theres so much more that goes into it than just a "$380 cam kit". I would search the forums for some good info.

he knows that! it was me that didnt lol, so maybe ima just go 178 TS, LG longtube pros, halltech venom, and then just some cooling mods and plugs and wires for now! still be fast i hope with a tune, then i will do a CAM later i want to do it right the first time and do all of those to insure reliability, and dont want to drop that much right away! i mean the LG pros are already a hit! but so worth it!
