I don't have any experience with LG, but I do have experience with Vengeance since they are local. They are a top notch shop and will be putting a cam in my car when it is time.

Neither
I wouldn't put in ANY cam unless I don't know the exact specs.
There are many cams out there to choose from that let you know exact duration/lift/lobe centerline/etc compared to a FancyX70Million "name" wanting you to take their word for it.
F-that.

I love this cam pulls very hard at any RPM and great drivability too
We races a C6 ZO6 last night and C6 ZO6 only won by 3 cars from 55 - 160mph
LGX3 makes great results too...

The LG cam isn't a mystery cam by any means, maybe when it was first released (years ago) but not now. 30 seconds of searching will find the anwer...
The specs of the g5x3 are: 234/242. XER lobes on a 112 or 114 lsa

I feel the same way as Joshua. There is no way that I would ever put a cam in my engine where the seller does not tell you the secifications. I feel that's completely outrageous.
I am running a Vengeance cam (Vindicator), and love it. I've had nothing but good things to say about Vengeance.

234/242 .600/.610 112 or 114 LSA
VXR5
236/238 .601/.605 113 LSA
Will these two produce much more HP then the other one? Or does it really make a difference?
I would pick the LG.
Dont get hung up on numbers, but ask does this cam do what I want it to do ?

Unless you spend a lot of time at the track, you'd probably happier long term with the G5X1 or similar. You must ask yourself how often your engine is over 5,000 rpms, b/c that is the only range a big cam is going to benefit you. So many guys go with the big cams only to regret it after a few months when they realize they arent as responsive or well mannered for street driving as they'd like. Good luck though, I hope you like what you choose

Unless your spending 80 % of your time AB0VE 4,000 RPMS, get a smaller cam. The X1 will do very well.
I run a 224/224 581/581 112+4 and still spend 90% of my time above 3,500 rpms

Actually, the X3 is a 236/242 .600 .610...
Joshua.,, why the LGM bashing? i have been going to them for my Vettes,F-bods for about 10 yrs... have never had a bad experience.
(personally).. they have their reasons for being guarded regarding cam specs.. But the perf, quality speaks for themselves.
Go with the G5X3 buddy... you'll never want another cam!

LG gives you the cam specs when you get the cam and a little research will get them before hand.
As for them not making specs widely available; when the LSX motors 1st came out they were 1 of the first to make cams for it. Why let someone else simply copy all your proven hard work and slap their sticker on the box and call it theres; I would have done the same thing. Now that the competition has caught up they have gotten looser with the specs and they are easy to find.

He realizes that the cam comes with a cam card, but I have no idea why there is a need to keep the information private. Once the first cam was shipped out to a customer, the specs were no longer secret. Why do they still need to keep it a mystery. I still do not understand why they do not advertise what the specs are.
Personally, I think it's paramount to know the specifications before buying the cam - that's how I base my purchase decision. What happens if you need to know whether you'll have to flycut or not? I would hate to just rely on someone stating "it will fit".
Bad95: Basically it comes down to what cam will suit your application best. You know the specs of both, and they're both of equal quality - they are both ground by Comp Cams. Choose the one that's specs suit your needs. Don't base your decision on a company.
