On the front lowering bolts, what's the difference in ride height between using the zip bolts which is basically a thin bolt head and a piece of plastic covering it and having no bolts and putting some rubber between the spring?
Seems like it would be the same to me but the bolt with bushing would stay in place and be a better solution am I wrong?
There have been a lot of arguments over which shocks work well for a slammed car. I personally tried bilstein sports on my last slammed C5 and the ride was still awful like the stock shocks. Maybe my springs were worn out causing the issue?
What shocks will handle this lowering the best? I think bilsteins are the least likely to bottom out, but others have said 04z shocks etc.
Next, what is the best sway bar to get for that upgrade feeling? Im not going to be professionally racing the car just want it to feel amazing. I know some people are using the new C6Z or Z51 but is this right for our cars? I have 19X9.5&20X11 HRE on the car btw
I am about to drop my car with the ZIP bolts. I also have the C6Z51 Sways and C6Z06 Shocks ready to go on. Wish I could tell you how it is but it's going to be a few weeks before I install them. I want to powder the sways first.
I drive the car less than 1k a year so it can be extreme on the sways for good handling, just want the best shock for lowering as I know that can make the ride miserable
Once you take the bolts out, you can't lower the car any further (unless you go to coilovers).
I think the Zip bolts are a waste of money. You have to take the old ones out to install the Zips. Why not just leave them out all together or cut the existing bolts bushings? You will accomplish the same thing and save yourself the cost of the other bolts.
I had my Coupe lowered on the stock bolts and had '04 Z06 shocks and sways installed. I didn't find any significant loss of ride quality doing it.
Your rear tires are wide enough to go with the C6Z06 sways. I did the C6Z51 bars on my '02 Z51 and the difference was unbelieveable. Haven't gotten around to slamming the car yet but it's on my list.
