One thing is for sure it would be very, very loud. Your local LEOs would probably just love hearing you come down the road.

thats for sure

I know sometimes you get a "popping" sound when you go just straight pipe

IMO there are other muffler options available if you are looking for a more wide open sound

Yes straight pipes would get a pony or two.

I run straight pipes with a coup. It is louder then chit and I wear ear plugs when I drive.

My set up AR longtubes,X-pipe,hi-flows originally kept the stock Ti's and replaced with Borla straights and felt no difference at all. Heard a difference, not bad at idle, not to crazy 5th 6th gear on highway but at wot or going thru gears at a 3000 to 4000rpm shift its all .

YOUR CAR WILL SOUND LOUDER AND IT WILL GIVE YOU A BACKFIRE TYPE O SOUND WHEN LETTING OF THE GAS.BUT YOUR DOWNFALL WILL BE THAT YOU WONT GAIN POWER YOU WILL PROBABLY LOSE A COUPLE PONYS .WHY?BECAUSE WHEN YOU ARE RU NNING ON A BLOWER THE MOTOR NEEDS BACKPRESSURE TO MAKE TOTAL BOOST.BUT HOPEFULLY WHATEVER CHOICE YOU MAKE IS GOODWHEN A CAR IS ALL MOTOR NO BLOWER YES ITS BETTER STRAIGHT PIPE...OOH AND YOU HAVE HEADERS FOR SURE YOU NEED BACKPRESSURE!!!

Sounds bad *** alright,,but sounds to me you are just advertising for the LEO's. They can hear you from FAR AWAY if you are misbehaving ,,,even just a little bit!! Personally I do like sound,,,but I prefer to fly just a little below the radar!!

I know - if it's too loud then you're too old.....personally I think it sounds

Let's see - can't have a conversation with a passenger, can't listen to music, I doubt if you could hear an approaching emergency vehicle, can't start the car at night or early in the morning without really pi$$ing off the neighbors, a drive of any distance will have your eardrums throbbing from constant noise....perfect right?

Reminds me of when I was 16 years old and I took the exhaust system off my 65 Dodge 383 4bbl just to hear what that sounded like. Whatever....oh and one more cliche - "Loud pipes save lives" right?

Keep the Borlas, the only thing you'll gain is more attention. And if there aren't enough people looking at the bright red, cool sounding, beautiful corvette for ya, then, you are verging on a disorder.

I've heard this before but it doesn't make sense. If you stack boost with a short LSA, then you don't need any back pressure. If you run rich, your just going to puddle un-burnt hydrocarbons in the muffler and blow it up when it gets hot enough. Plus, why do race cars run open headers or down pipes if back pressure is needed. We need Mythbusters to settle this one.

Haha funny thing about that is I actually had a cop pull up next to me after I took off out of my buddies street.. He was like HEY WHAT EXHAUST IS THAT?? lol He has an 04. Then he cut the guy off in back of me just to hear me go down the street again lol. There are some cool ones out there but knock on wood I havn't been bothered with it being to loud. Im sure ill get pulled over for the 5% tint thats going on the windows in the spring

I agree... Just keep what ya got and get some electric cut outs from DMH performance dot com... 4 year unlimited warranty and you can go from mild to crazy wild with the depress of a switch! I LOVE mine and Super Dave is an awesome fella! He has low profile cut outs designed just for the C5. It's great to start the ride up then push that button and it sounds like a Nascar power plant is lurking under the hood. Wait.. I thought this was an ear candy thread... Sorry

That's not true, you can't hold a conversation at wot but at normal driving its not that bad as for neighbors too bad just don't tach out pass their house.Me personally I would not like my current set up for a daily driver I would keep the original Ti's on but for a once, twice a week drive their the best.

A bit loud for my tastes with very little if any gain in performance. Just asking for tickets. Cut outs are a more desirable solution.
