lot of feather ruffling going on

If you guys do a search you'll see a thread we had about a year ago that covered this and assembled lots of information.. after a bit of research on this site, and two other corvette sites, discussions with many of the owners.. (i cant remeber the exact number.. so a search if your interested).. but a very liberal estimate put it at 3-5% with all getting in to fancy statics compilations.. if using and straight number of z06 registered users on the site vs number of posted failures it was something ridiculous like only 1%.. but we all know most of those user are inactive, dont post etc.. We even compiled a list of users whos springs had failed.. then we sent some springs off to a testing laboratory for a material analysis.

however, the point is, complicated statistics and metallurgy is not that important.. the original batch of springs in the cars are more prone to break than the base corvette... significantly more prone.. maybe not.. but enough to notice.

these cars are affordable and durable high performance cars we can enjoy on the street.. $500 bucks or so of maintenance once every 50k-70k or 5-7yrs isnt much to ask..

does that guarantee you wont have a failure.. probably not.. does it help..

maybe.

but for $500 it'll probably ease some of your anxiety over the issue - and thats worth something.

Just change them..to make it more worth your while for like 1300 get a mild cam kit and they come with hardened pushrods and 921 valve springs and more! Lol plus makes you feel better especially with the 921s!!!
