Oil leak help please
So I noticed that my vette was leaking some oil so today I finally got underneath to take a look. What I noticed was that the bolt indicated by the red arrow is loose. Unfortunately, I cannot get it tight it is almost like it has a nut on the other end but there is no way I can get to the top of it. When I start to tighten it it gets a little tight then goes loose when I go too far. Does this bolt have a nut at the top and that is why I cannot get it tight or do you think it is stripped.

I would go the helicoil path since that's the proper way to repair this. Here are some pics to show you where the bolt is relative to other structures in the pan area. Looks like a helicoil repair should be doable there. I would apply some kind of anaerobic sealant in the repair before reinstalling the new bolt and torqueing it to prevent future leaks.
