I've been trying to lower my '03 Z all day, and the rear bolts seem to be taking forever! I am trying to get it to the 3rd thread on the bolt, and with non-stop wrenching from a 1/2" ratchet, I still am not even done with one side. Is there an easier way? Are you supposed to remove the nut on top? Thanks for any help!

Yes, I have a wrench on the top nut so it will not move. And no, all I have is that hand ratchet. It is seriously taking me like 20 minutes to do 1 thread on the bolt...

hold back up on the bottom and use a different wrench and turn the top nut to where you want it. i did both sides in less than 30 mins and that included jacking it up. it is nothing more than unscrewing a nut off a bolt.

yes....but you will be loosing the nut on top. you will unscrew the nut on top leaving about 3 or 4 threads showing under the lock/snap ring. you do not need to remove the snap ring. by loosing the nut you are making the bolt longer allowing everything to settle down farther

look at this thread post # 66 and make sure you are looking at the right thing. you should not need any air tools! douche it with pb blaster or some kind of penatrant and let it soak and try it again. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...with-pics.html
Make sure the weight is off the bolts as well, jack up the rear end from the center cross beam with weight off both wheels at once, should be able to adjust both sides in less than 15 minutes.
