Very difficult to find the right touch up paint to match, even getting it from a GM Dealer is no guarantee. If your painting a total piece of the vehicle they can blend it, but for small stone chips not so easy. I had my side skirts and front ACI spoiler painted a couple of times ( off the vehicle ) looking closely you can see the difference. The last time I gave them my front plate cover and told them to match that. Came out very close to the original.

It sucks trying to get it to match. Good luck. I got mine from GM and it was close, but if you look you can tell.
Yep, like the other guys said, it's hard to match. I've actually re-done my front end and underhood, and had it all re-painted, with paint that was supposed to be color matched, and it's still a little off.
This really puts a cloud over my head l'm so **** about any mark. The first time l looked for a C5 l tried to find a MY coupe but couldn't find a low mileage garage queen.
What l did find was a Torch Red garage queen thanks to the help l got from "Sponge vette" (2/12/06) in a PM.
Anyway l will check out this MY vert this coming Saturday to see what it looks like in person, but with 22,000 miles who knows.
PS By the way l hope everybody realizes that the clearcoat must be used and the clearcoat must be tinted MY.
Yeah it happens to be a great color, the first time l saw this color was years ago in a Ferrari showroom and if my memory serves me it was called "Fly Yellow".
Just hate any marks but l will have to get past it!!

I've tried several methods and the best solution I've found is from www.paintscratch.com
They have a three step process which includes seperate tubes of primer, base coat, and clear coat. If you take your time with application, I think you'll be pleased with the results.
I found a place on line that I got some spray paint from that wasn't too bad it was from R&E Paints. I used it to paint my FRC's, haven't got any touch up paint from them yet but I think I will give them a shot.

Hi
I just checked their site and they said unless l'm reading it wrong that the base coat and clearcoat are mixed together. No mention of abase coat needed.
Is this a lacquer touch up paint? Reason that l'm asking is that in the Lanka process you blob on the paint and let it dry for 4/5 days and they you use a woven piece of fabric ( white shirt) around a credit card
and gently rub it back and forth until it flattens out. This method does work and l'm only concerned about small things (**** me).
Lanka gives you a cleaner to apply before you use the touch up paint, is this what their primer does.

I believe you would want to order one of the paint kits (see What to Order/Paint Kits on home page). It gives you choices related to your application method...pen, brush, or spray. And shows that base coat and clear coat are seperate bottles and not mixed together. It's been probably over a year ago I ordered from them and honestly I don't recall the specifics, but it must have been a kit because I received the three bottles I mentioned in my previous reply to your post. I've used the product on 4-6 chips and I've been happy with results.
I do see reference to acrylic lacquer thinner, but not sure if that inplies the paint is actually lacquer based. Perhaps to fully answer your questions, you could give them a call.
