How do you guys dispose of the old fluids? I got the oil down. In the past I may have mixed brake fluid in with the old oil and then disposed of it. But I'm unsure where the others go.
yup. I try to keep them separate using old spare oil bottles or anything. I tell them which is which and let them figure it out. I drop mine off at a local Pepboys. It's free and quick.
I thought the fuel filter was internal to the fuel tank?
No, it mounts to the left side (drivers) of the tunnel on '00 or later and earlier models behind the wheel well liner on the drivers side near the fill tube.
On the later models it is known as a fuel filter/pressure regulator. Cost about twice as much as the earlier model fuel filter.

It was put in the tank somewhere in the 03-04 model year timeframe. In my 02, the fuel filter is just aft of the drivers seat on the inside of the frame rail, basically right in front of the wheel well. Really easy to see if you can get under the car. Note that to change a fuel filter you need a special tool to separate the fuel lines from the filter. I bought one for about $5 at a local auto parts store.
I read somewhere that I may need a special tool or 2 for removing some of the fill or drain plugs, is this true and what do I need to get? I think it was for the diff fill plug. I plan to change all my fluids in my 04 MN6 next week.
I can't remember which is which but you will need a hex socket, forgot the size, though.
The other is 3/8", which you should already have, just use your 3/8" socket with an extension and that will work.
Make sure you back the fill plugs out before you drain any fluid. If the fill plug is seized for whatever reason and you drain the fluid, you'll have some problems.

If a guy has the tool, on the 1-5 scale of easy to forget it, what number would you place on the R&R fuel filter job?
When I bought my 98 I had the tranny pan dropped and a new filter put in, coolant, brake fluid last year, and of course oil. I am doing the fuel filter this year and getting the oil changed as soon as I get it out of storage. I have not done the rear end fluid on the car as of yet though.
