I broke that overpriced peice of plastic last night replacing a reverse light.
For some reason I remember standard licence plate frames not fitting correctly where the old frame goes.
Are there any aftermarket replacements that arent ridiculously overpriced? I've seen the chrome ones, but how well do those sit with the reverse lights?

When I bought my car it has an aftermarket license plate frame on it - and it didn't cover the area as well as the factory one. Not sure how well the chrome ones fit, but if you want a complete look to that area, get either the black stock piece or one that has been painted body color. The surround can be found in the parts for sale section every now and then.

I have been looking for a chrome frame that properly fits for months now. (don't want the OEM black plastic one)
THose Generic Chrome Frames that you find at your local Auto Parts Store do NOT fit correctly..... There is a gap between the back-up light and it shows the tab holes and black back-ground. If you look close, those "generic chrome frames" look terrible on a C5.
GOOD NEWS THOUGH - There are the correct chrome frames out there but the trick is finding them.
Even if those oversized and over-priced louverd billet frames that go around the back-up lights and license plate were cheap - they still don't look good to some people (makes that area way too large in the back).
If you find a place that has the WIDE EDGED Chrome Frames that will fill the gap between the License Plate and the inside edge of the back-up light, please PM me also.
