I have a 97 c5 vette. Everything was working great. I took the tail lights out and smoked them. After putting them back in, both sides of the blinkers blink fast. ALL LIGHTS WORK. I replace all lights and they still blink fast. The hazards blink normal, but the blinkers blink very fast. What could cause this?
I have a nisssan altima that does this sometime on just one side when it feels like it. All lights work also. Bad conn or bad flasher maybe. I need to look into it.
Check to make sure a bulb isn't put back ln 180* out. If it is it will blink fast. If they aren't then push the hazzard switch 10 times then check them again. I know it sounds strange but it may work. Bill

If you were doing a job and it started then logically thats the problem area. Id pull the lights and make sure you didnt crimp something. Is the ground still connected properly? Did you blow a stop or a tail separately? Those are dual filament so make sure all functions are working.
It could be coincidence and you blew a turn signal bulb. The DRL/turn signal bulbs are also dual filament. Its possible for one function to be out but the other is still working. Check that you have both park, turn and DRLs on both sides.

I had the same problem when I installed new tail-lens. I believe mine was a problem of the bulb not completely seated in the socket, I removed pass/rear light, reinserted all the way, and no more problem. Another thing I did was wipe all the bulbs, they all had a film of dust on them, they looked new when I finished.
