Yea but if you go by that mentallity ( you living in dearborn ) that would mean you could use your car approx. 100 days out of the year since the weather always sucks up here. I'd rather drive my car and enjoy it anytime, if someone hits it then I'll get another one.

I understand that using your car in snow is a different matter as salt from the roads can be corrosive, and Vettes do not handle good in snow especially if it is deep.
So, how many drive in the rain or when roads are wet?
Drive it! It's a car. Use the wipers. Wash it when it needs it.

Test drove mine in the rain before I purchased it. I don't drive it much in the rain because it is not a DD.

My Z06 is not a daily driver, and I prefer to keep it nice for weekend sunny day cruising. Its too much of a pain to get it clean again driving it in the rain. I am lucky enough to have a daily driver for rain days.

My personal preference for MY CAR (yea its my f**ckn car so I'll do with it what I please) is that I like keeping it looking clean all the time, and I don't like washing it cuz I am too lazy. If I can, I avoid the rain. I have gotten caught in the rain before no biggie.

I also choose to buy polished aluminum wheels... if they get wet, then get hot from the breaks and break dust, they are a total PITA to keep clean.

So those that claim to be "road warriors" and drive in the rain, I am happy for you, but that does not make you any better than those of us who do not.

To each his own.

Peace out

Very true. This was one of the reasons, that we moved out of there back in 1978.

I've driven mine in the rain, but don't like the mess afterwards. So I try to avoid it sometimes.

Speaking of undercarriage, is it ok to run a Vette through a car wash that has the under carriage wash???

This may be construed as a dumb question but I am a relatively new member of the Vette family so please don't beat me up too bad..........

My 1998 with 125,000 miles is a daily driver. I have 4 cars for 2 drivers, so I don't drive the C5 if it is raining. I will drive in the rain if it is dirty (rarely). These cars were made to drive and that's what I do.

I agree with what one person (Stealth_Inc) said, my car is probably worth $11,000 so what if I drive it everyday. Often I get compliments from other drivers on it's looks, I often tell them, " it is a 1998 with 125,000 miles, your car/truck is worth more." I can say this to most cars/trucks.

One of my friends has a Corvette and he is crazy, he waxes his radiator fan (old 1972 Corvette) and cleans his side pipe exhausts with a toothbrush ! He got rid of his Motorcycle because he was cleaning it more than riding it ! Not me, I have too much fun driving mine !

Alot of Corvette owners believe that by not driving in the rain, the resale value is better maintained.

2 things:

1. When selling your car, can you actually prove its never seen rain? Nope

2. The only benefit is that the buyer gets a super mint car and will take it for the current "market" price and not the sellers price

Ok, I give up. How would you recommend I wash my car's belly? Do you have lifts?

I was merely asking a newby question. I should have qualified that better...... Thank you for setting me straight. BTW, I have never taken my car through a car wash.

Hah! Not if it's lowered like some of ours it won't.

To me "never seen rain" means I am dealing with a owner who didn't use it for a daily driver and was selective in it's use. To me it would tickle my buying bone since I am the same way. They won't melt of course but I can't stand a dirty vette.
