I know what you mean . I saw a slammed c5 black and thought the same thing . You get to see a different view of it when watching it go by.

This is the third weekend with my 01 vert. First weekend was cleaning. Second weekend was brake work and cleaning. Today is the third time I've driven the car since I got it. Man it was niiiiiice.

I like it when I am home and the wife drives away in it. I always have a big smile on my face! I got the bride laughing one day...we were taking a drive to a town about an hour away to go to the fish store and as we were driving up there, a car (dont remember what it was) came up beside us slow and then when it got right by us, they punched it. I looked at the wife and said "I dont need to"... She said need to what? I said punch it and pass them, cause they already know I could...!! Love my ride!!!

Now this is a smart story and a very true one. happens to me all the time (and most with wifey in car). We both say "what, are they kidding me..."

Yeah, I know the feeling.

Finally, the winter is over and yesterday was the first day of spring and Rita's Ices in NJ gives away free ices all day. Yesterday was beautiful in Jersey and I'm in line for same and I got so excited because a C5 coupe with the top off was parked right in front. I was talking so much about this car and a yellow bumble bee Camaro with a couple of guys that the girl behind the counter had to call me twice to get my attention. You know you have Corvette/Spring Fever when you distracted from free food!!!

Not me, I always feel very "special" when driving my C5, and it seems that everybody is starring at me. When you spend you time looking at wheels. tires, and tailpipes, it is hard NOT to feel different!

Every time I see a C5, especially a Torch Red one, coming the opposite direction from me (and I spot it from a long way away) I am shocked how sick they look. I have to wonder if that is what my car looks like going down the road. What must people think??? ; )

Some people look at my car and give me thumbs up or have a very positive comment.. but the ones that really get me are the ones that look straight ahead but you can see that they are trying to look but not give you the benifit,.,, they usually are driving ricers or Mustangs..sometimes I am stopped at a light and they roll up slowly as they are chcking out my rear end, wheels tires rotors etc then they roll up to check out the front...but they do it on the low low...

I dunno... Every time I got in my Z06, I got a heart dropping sensation that I just got in a bad *** car. And every time I'd get on a freeway, I'd get that "Can't touch this" feeling (followed by an urge to wear parachute pants) and sometimes it'd just hit me again while just cruising that I was driving one of the worlds greatest most bad-*** cars and it'd give me a tingle.

Yup love that feeling especially when I have heard my car take off I'm just like wow that thing looks and sounds awesome. When I see a stock one I usually think man why haven't they done anything to it. I know weird huh.

I get that feeling when I'm cruising down the highway at about 70, some wad does a ricer fly-by and I realize I've still got more room to my top speed than they had sitting in their driveway.

It's always nice when someone else reminds you about your car too.

Went through McDonald's drive thru today, and the young guy cashier says "Nice car!" I couldn't agree more with him.
