I'm getting my Z06 tinted, and the guys at the shop said they were having problem with the "Dot Matrix" in the back window, and if it is still bad in a couple days to take it back to them.
Does anyone here have any experience with this?
If so:
What can be done if the shop can't repair it or what can they do to fix it or get it done right??
its hard to get the tint to seal really well around those dots. my coupe has the same problem and i believe there isnt a fix for it but if there is i am willing to try it.
a heat gun was used around my rear window but it still isnt completely tight around the dots. the dots are so close together its tough to get a seal and it agrivates installers

This has been a problem for years. My FRC was tinted 6 years ago and is still ok. You need a guy that has done it before.
I've seen installers "spray tint" that section of window, then apply the film. I didn't do that so I don't know how noticable the 'line' will be
I just had my coupe rear window tinted by a guy that had done many vettes and was familiar with the dot pattern. He said some stick and some don't; the ones that don't he uses the spray tint but some folks get real uncomfortable when he has to spray their Vette. Mine so far is sticking to the dot pattern.

I've heard of installers using either of these two methods, as well as just working patiently to get the tint to look good around those dots. An experienced installer should be able to make it look very good, but it does take a lot of practice.
